Do you get tested for herpes when going into the army?

My ex was in the army. He told me he had only been with three girls and he used a condom w everybody.. he also told me he had to get blood drawn and tested and stuff every month for the army which I think I believe because one time he told me his roommate had chlamydia.

He had some bumps around the tip of his penis that I assumed were fordyce spots.
