What the heck can I eat?

Question

Has anyone meet with their doctor yet?  I won't for another couple of weeks and I don't really know what I can eat or not.  Considering we aren't telling anyone right away,  it is making it difficult for me to figure out what to do,  especially when we go out with friends.

I was told no sushi. You can have lunch meats if they are heated up until they are steaming. All meat needs to be cooked until it's well done. Also no soft cheeses like feta or Brie. Make sure your milk and juices are pasteurized. Hope this helps!

No tuna, soft cheese, sliced deli meats, or raw fish. All meats should be Thoroughly cooked. I also choose to not drink soda, coffee, oh and no cucumbers from a store right now cause of the salmonella outbreak.

What about eggs?  I'm getting conflicting info on whether or not is safe to eat eggs.

I got one of those what to expect books and checked on the Internet. But the other day I was out to eat and couldn't remember if blue cheese was bad and if calamari was okay. So I just googled ' can I eat ----- while pregnant' on my phone and the answer comes right up. Blue cheese is bad because it has a higher risk of carrying bacteria while calamari is good and actually recommended.

The Ovia pregnancy app has a great list of foods and medicines. You can look up pretty much anything on there and whether it's safe or not.

clear sodas are fine, but stay away from any dark drinks. regular is better over diet as the aspartame is bad for baby and they still haven't determined if Splenda is ok for pregnancies. cream cheese is ok and is not considered a soft cheese. stay away from big fish like tuna, swordfish and shark as they are high in mercury. wash all fruits and veggies before eating. second the lunch meat thing. that is any prepackaged meat. ham, turkey, hot dogs, precooked bacon, sausage. don't eat any home canned canned goods unless they pop when you open them as the pop ensures it was sealed properly. I know there is more, but that's all I remember right now.
