Can't access my magick. Suggestions?

Question

-- I have natural magick - I'm positive I do. I'm nearing the end of my year and a day and my teacher told me the first steps to magickal workings are grounding and centering (which I can do), and visualization.

-- But I can't for the life of me get that down! And if I can't do that, then I can't use the magick I have (at least not effectively or very safely). I've been trying so hard this past year. However, I'm not letting that get me down.

-- I've decided to practice herb magick, since (from what I understand) all it really takes is an understanding of plants and what they're good for, how they can be combined with other plants in salves and things like that. So my question is, does anyone know of a fantastic herbalism book?

I don't, but I grew up with my Oma being a retired nurse. In her nurse's training in the '40's they were taught what to use of medicine ran short during the war.

So herbs were often used for medicinal properties, or to soothe anxiety. Now that I've converted away from the Lutheran church and on to what I should have been, a follower of the Old Norse Gods. It's been easier to pick up that side of magick. Most of the time, I'll look up natural remedies for something, and focus on what the herb is supposed to do. That usually helps me.

If you can, I would try heading to an occult shop, in my experience they're usually run by knowledgeable witches. And I'd ask for a book recommendations there.

The best tools you could use are within you already. Most of the books and knowledge I've acquired has been led by my intuition. Usually occult shops in your area should have classes available if you like to learn in group settings and get hands on experience. I've learned about herbalism from so many different sources.. Even once found a free Mexican folk healing class online once! All led by intuition. You are already attracting teachers in your life now. You'll start meeting many ppl that have different pieces of wisdom to share.

& Your right about the visualization grounding and shielding are number one to any spiritual work I was just talking about that yesterday.  It becomes easier and stronger the better you can see yourself in your minds eye. Practice looking at yourself in the mirror and observing and etching every detail into your minds eye then close your eyes and visualize yourself best you can. Recently I have solidified my mental image of myself and learned i can be in three places at once while remote viewing. Another way to practice Mentalism is candlelight gazing. You could probably Google it.  Grounding is very simple and your most likely getting it but not aware because you aren't seeing it. Try seeing a chord go down into the center of the earth and picture a clouded ruby getting clearer once it's crystal clear a bright white light travels up from it and around you shielding you and grounding you all at once.
