Should faking your (or someone else’s) death be illegal, no matter the intent? Or just if it’s for fraud/money purposes?

Someone I know of may be faking their death for the third time 🤦🏻‍♀️

They aren’t fund raising for funeral costs or anything (this time, anyways), there’s no financial fraud (yet), but they do have a huge following and their “death” has been devastating to many, many people. If it is in fact fake, it would have caused pretty serious emotional damage to some people.

Should that be illegal? If so, what would the punishment be?
