Second csection?

Question

Has anyone had previous csection after laboring and pushing and then had a scheduled csection for next pregnancy? Was there really that much of a difference in recovery for you? I’m already feeling so anxious about this and I have months to go  😭

My first I had been in preterm labor that they stopped and then active labor for 46 hrs and 2 hrs of pushing before our health deteriorated and I needed the emergency c-section. I am scheduled to have my next c-section in 2.5 weeks and all I have heard is that it’s practically a spa day in comparison. It’s still a major surgery, but it isn’t rushed and your body won’t go through nearly as much trauma beforehand, so it should be a much smoother experience! I am mostly excited to get to be awake for the birth of my baby this time. Good luck!

My first I labored for 11 hrs then pushed for nearly 3 before I was sent for a C-section. The recovery wasn't that bad for me. My second was a C-section because of low amniotic fluid (I was hoping for a VBAC) the recovery wasn't bad with that one either. The third was a planned C-section and the recovery sucked! I'm not sure why except they said they had to cut a ton of scar tissue out from the previous surgery.

Wondering the same a flavored with out pain meds for 18hrs then c section I feel like it will be more relaxed even though I'm scared to have surgery but I won't be worn out from pain and no sleep hopefully recovery goes better then last since now I have a toddler to take care of and last time I got an infection

I did a TOOOOON of walking 24hrs after my surgery, due to having preeclampsia and being out on magnesium, which constricted me to the bed. I was pretty sore, but because I put mind of matter I got over the soreness after about 2 weeks ish. The hospital staff bragged about me. (I’m not for being down and our. I had a 5 year old at home that still needed me. NO EXCUSES!!) My catheter had me burning after I peed for weeeeks. It eventually subsided, yet I don’t remember that at all during my first recovery. My incision also came open a little on both ends. I used peroxide, neosporin, and campho phenique to clean it out and get it to close back. Took less than a week. Other than that I’d say that it will heal just as easily as long as you do your part in walking, moving around(don’t over exert yourself), and keeping it clean. You’ll be fine. I promise.

With my first I la ord for 32 hours before they took her by emergency c-section. With my second it was scheduled. Night and day. With the scheduled cesarean I bounced right back, didn't even fill the pain med Rx. First I'd say about 3 month recovery, second I was back to feeling great within 2 weeks.
