Devastated😢😢😢😢(sorry for long post)

I have been trying for almost 2 years to have baby #2. My period was late for the first time in about a year (its usually so regular I can literally tell you the date and hour of day it will start every month) so I decided to test. I only got a faint positive but the line started showing within a minute of testing (1st time this happened since ttc) and I was really happy and excited. I've been having light cramps and now today not even 24hrs later I have bright red spotting after using the restroom and even though its not getting heavy yet I know AF is on the way. I don't get it, I've been having symptoms like fatigue, nausea, sensitivity to smell, and breast tenderness so when I got a faint positive I just thought well it's still a little early (I was just one day late) and thought my hormones needed more time to build up. I feel sooooo stupid for getting my hopes up now. I knew it was too good to be true but got overly excited about the possibility. *long sigh....... Stupid me
