Confusion with clomid and ovulation tests.

Hello. Ive been ttc #2 for about 2 years now and was having no luck so my doctor decided to put me on clomid 50mg for cycle days 3-7. I began taking ovulation tests on day 8 and was getting very obvious negatives. I tested twice yesterday and got what appeared to be positives but both the control and test line were pretty faint and from what I've been reading clomid causes false positives on ovulation tests, and that it should be too early for me to ovulate. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I tested today and got an identical test to yesterday.
