Cephalexin for UTI?

Question

I was diagnosed with a UTI this morning and prescribed Cephalexin. My doctor assured me that it’s completely safe and I’ve done some reading online that have also indicated Cephalexin is safe to take when pregnant.
For some added reassurance, I wanted to post here to see if anyone had any experience with Cephalexin during pregnancy? Thanks in advance!

I had a strep throat infection about a month ago, and took omnicef. Seems like like everything is fine so far.

Safer than a prolonged infection

I have had a UTI most of this pregnancy (no symptoms) and I'm on Cephalexin for the remainder of the pregnancy (October 3) because they're worried about it becoming a kidney infection. Cep is safer especially 3rd trimester than other antibiotics. I have asked for 3 opinions with different practices, so I feel much more confident.
