How much longer you think?

Question

I had my cervix checked for the first time today & I'm 3cm 60%effaced. Does that mean I could go into labor any day? My doctor thinks it could be as early as this weekend but I dunno.

It really doesn't mean much.. I've been 5cm & 80% effaced for 3+ weeks!

Just look at it like your body had already done that much work for you and you are closer to the goal of 10cm :)

My Dr told me me today I was 60-70% effaced and 1cm dilated but I've been having contractions so he said he expected to see me at my 38 week apt next week but I could go anytime after that!

Dialation and effacement are not an accurate indicator of when you will go into labor. I have been 3 and 60% for weeks. So you could or you could not.  A better indicator is contractions. If you are feeling those and they are getting stronger and closer together then yes labor is close.
