Was Toy Story 4 really necessary?

So I went and saw Toy Story 4 yesterday and while I did think it was pretty good for a 4th movie and had some parts that were genuinely funny, (without spoiling anything) I found myself questioning if it was really necessary.  More than anything, I felt it was trying to tie up a loose end that really didn't need to be tied whereas the first three were a complete package and ended on a good note.  
Don't get me wrong; Toy Story 4 was a good movie, I'm glad I saw it and I would definitely recommend it to others.  But while I'd watch the first three movies multiple times without hesitation, I don't foresee myself hurrying to see this one again.

The third was was written with the intention of being the end. It was supposed to be the final goodbye, and did a good job creating that.
 
The new one is unnecessary and ultimately defies the original vision and meaning behind the third film.

The third should have been it. I was disappointed in the 4th. They made a movie to make more money by preying on nostalgia. The whole thing fell flat.

Yeah I agree they could’ve made it better though with adding Andy in college like taking the toys back or visiting them something like that but it did seem a little weird of a story line

If you’ve fallowed any of the Toy Story short films after the 3rd film then you would be more understanding maybe. Bonnie and her toys have a special connection just like Andy did and I felt it was an awesome opportunity to take the old and mix it with the new so people from the many generations that have followed them can all have something amazing to share.
