Advice needed

So my mom is married to my step dad who dips. Whatever right? Well my mom doesn’t like people who smoke. Well my bf smokes cigarettes. He’s trying to quit and he’s almost there I’m very proud of him. But I’m afraid she’s not gonna like him cause of that even though my step dad/her husband dips. But like isn’t that basically the same thing?

She hasn’t met him yet btw because he’s 26 and I’m 18 and extremely nervous as to what she’s gonna say.

The thing is, my best friend who’s a little older than me, she thinks it’s not a big deal and doesn’t see a problem with it. And one time I posted on here what other women would say/think about our age difference and NOBODY said it was weird or anything. And I got like 15 women on here saying they thought it was no big deal and was fine.
