Can someone please tell me what the best affordable infant car seat is??

Every single one on the market goes through the same tests and is rated to withstand the same stuff, so it’s really a matter of budget and preferences. Like some have more cushions, some will be easier to install, some are lighter, some just look “fancy” if that’s important to you. I’d say go to a baby store and play around and get a feel for what you like. They’re ALL safe, so whatever you pick is going to be fine. What really matters is that you use it properly. Google to see if theres somewhere you can get a car seat check done before baby comes, they help make sure it’s installed properly and teach you the proper technique for using it. I went to a police station nearby for mine.

With my first I got a very highly rated Graco seat and hated it, I highly recommend checking them out in the store in addition to reading reviews. Also google ‘baby gear lab best infant car seat’...they have an awesome breakdown of safety, ease of install with base as well as without, overall weight, quality, etc.

What we did was once we decided on a specific car seat we checked Facebook marketplace too see if anyone near us was selling one. We made sure it wasn’t expired or any previous car accidents this sort of things. We ended up getting a more pricey version of the one we wanted for $55 with the base!
