Forgive me if I don’t know what’s going on. But I have a few questions just seen on TV Donald Trump sign papers for sanctions on Iran. What exactly does this mean? Are we going to war with Iran?

No, he signed economic sanctions rather than authorizing military action
This is the one time I'm happy with Donald Trump's decision..anything to keep us out of another 20 year quagmire in the middle east 
He's so wishy washy he may authorize military action tomorrow, it's always a gamble with him. 
But for now I'm happy with his decision

Sanctions as in economic sanctions (more to do with tariffs and trade) as kind of a “punishment” for Iran’s policies. Sanctions can lead to war or trade war or nothing, it’s not an automatic war declaration in itself
