Will they induce same day?

My next appointment is next Wednesday (July 3rd). I will be 39w and 5 days. My doctor and I talked about inducing once I hit 39 weeks because of how big my baby is measuring. So my question is, will they induce me the same day of my appointment is or plan it for later?

Mine for the 5th was scheduled at my appointment last week because it's a holiday week and there might be limited staff on the 3-5, so you may want to call before next week. Maybe the holiday will have no impact, but better to be safe.

I assume when you go in for your appt they will see how things are looking and decide for sure if inducing is something that will be happening and then if thats the case it should be anytime after your appt given they need to prepare. They may have you come back early like 4am or have you go in shortly after your appt. But exciting either way, I hope for healthy baby and safe delivery!!

Most hospitals schedule it in advanced so they can plan a bed. This will be my third induction at 39 weeks, second hospital, and all three times it was scheduled weeks in advanced. At this hospital, I have to call the morning of to make sure they have a bed. If it’s been a busy night, I’ll have to wait until the afternoon. It seems odd your doctor wouldn’t have given you explicit instructions on what time to show up, how you’ll be admitted, etc

If they haven’t already made you an appointment then probably after! My dr doesn’t want me to go much past 38 weeks and they scheduled my date/time two weeks ago
