If you have an iud and are in a sexual relationship with a person with a penis, do you use other forms of birth control?

I always make my boyfriend pull out because even though I have the iud I’m still worried there is possibility of pregnancy, but if he accidentally pulls out too late I panic. Please give me some peace of mind😂

I had the copper IUD for 9 years. My husband and I had regular sex and used no other forms of BC.  I got it out to try for a baby and got pregnant that week, so obviously I was fertile. The IUD 1000% did its job while it was in.  I just got my second one in now that I’ve had my baby and I completely trust it.

My boyfriend doesn’t pull out and we don’t use condoms. In the beginning I did get him to pull out around my fertile time just in case but now we’re at a place that if it accidentally happens, it would be a happy surprise.

I am going to get an IUD postpartum and will not use anything else because I’m married. But if you’re worried about STI’s it’s a great idea to use a condom 😊👍🏻
