IUD & Cramps
(That’s actually me hunched down in pain)
Sooooo back in February I got the IUD Mirena inserted. Let me tell ya, I. Was. Pumped. I had been on the pill for 10 years and I was ready for an easy, no brainer birth control. I was ready and expecting pain, but holy shhhhhhhhhht that thing made me hurt for like 4 days and everything was swollen for what seemed like a month.
Fast forward to meow. I love this thing. I don’t have to remember to take anything, I have stayed pretty regular, yes the swelling is gone, and my period was never heavy because I basically hit puberty and jumped on birth control but I can tell it’s lighter too. MY COMPLAINT, ladiessss, is that my cramps are freaking terrible. Advil/Tylenol/Midol don’t touch them. All of the normal pain relief methods — nothin.
I’ll admit that I’m a big ole wuss but sheesh. I keep telling myself it’ll get better, it’s still new.
