How often our your newborns eating and how many ounces?

My son is 3 weeks old (born June 1st), he has started to try and eat 4 oz of formula every 2 1/2 - 3 hours.I'm wondering if that is normal ? Also if not should I feed him less but more frequently?

My daughter is 3 weeks also and is eating 2.5-3 oz every 3-3.5 hours. Sometimes, she’ll do 4 oz from the ready to feed formula bottles at night. I found a feeding chart on pinterest I use, and I log each feeding in this app. I also look for cues that she gives to indicate she’s hungry. If I catch her smacking her lips / tongue, I’ll make her a bottle even if she just ate like an hour or so ago.

Mine is 4 weeks and drinking 4 oz about 6-7 feedings a day for about a week now.

I do both Breastmilk and formula. Regardless of which milk, my daughter is a day younger than your son (both June 2nd). She drinks 2.5-3 ounces every 2-3 hours.  I too worry sometimes she’s feeding too much.  However, I have asked her doc and nurses. They’re aren’t worried as long as she doesn’t surpass 32 ounces before the end of the month.

I was told babies won’t overeat. They stop eating when they’ve had enough as opposed to us adults that go back for 2nds and 3rds overstuffing ourself because we enjoy the good food so much lol.
