Boyfriend abused ex wife...

I've been with my boyfriend for almost 6 months and I love him. I trust him and he treats me amazing.

He was married before. And a few different times he and his ex wife would get into a fight and he choked her and pushed her. He got very mean. He doesn't drink so it's not like he was drunk. And he also raped her a few times. They were going through some bad times. She was always talking down to him and making him feel like crap about himself.. so I understand why he blew up at her. HOWEVER, I do not agree with how he handled it whatsoever.

Sometimes I feel stupid for being with him. But I've never once felt like I was in any kind of danger with him. I actually feel safe and loved. Then I remind myself, his ex probably felt the same way after only 6 months. He took anger management classes for almost a year. And he says he regrets it and won't ever do it again. I believe him, but what if I'm wrong ? We've gotten into a few different fights, but he has never once raised his voice at me or anything. We always resolve the problem in a few mintues. I honestly believe he's the one for me.

What would you do in a situation like this ?
