Newborn Pictures at hospital?

So at my doctors they gave me a checklist for my hospital bag. I am starting to slowly get things together and noticed it said outfit for newborn pictures? What do people usually buy for these? Are they good pictures? I’m a FTM and didn’t even know these were a thing the hospitals do😅

This is my first borns hospital photo, i had no knowledge that they would take photos so I didn’t bring anything besides his take home outfit, the photographer brought some props/outfits...now with my second I’m bringing a few outfits for pics, one crocheted outfit, take home outfit and maybe one that says little brother or something.

I know a lot of people who had matching swaddle and bow/hat sets for hospital or newborn pictures. All of them that I have seen turned out really cute.

I used to do the newborn photos for mom365. You get a free 8x10 if you call within two weeks. Free shipping too. So even if you don't have the money or whatever you can still get a free one. You get online access to the pics if you want to order later.

Honestly my sons hospital newborn pictures were amazing. I put him in his going home outfit that i packed. Also pack neutral colored shirts ( nothing fancy) for you and hubby and just some light powder and mascara because they can get family pics too and they are so cute!

For ours, you could opt to do the photos if you wanted to. Once the photos are done you can look at them and buy different packages if you like them or just get the digital prints.
The company at my hospital that does them is called Mom365 if you want to look at their website and get an idea of how it works (your company may be different).
We weren't prepared with a cute outfit last time but used a pretty swaddle and had a headband we put on her. They turned out cute for us and we ended up getting them. I want to say we got a package with the digital prints and a little photo book and a few physical prints and it was maybe in the $150-$200 range.
I'm the type that wouldn't have managed to set up a photo shoot or take nice photos on my own after getting home with the baby so it was a nice option to have.

We did them at Kaiser and really thought they turned out horrible. Bad quality but I’m sure every hospital is different. For us they took the pictures then you had the option to buy them or not

I had them in the shirt and hat they give at the hospital just because I thought it was cute.. I plan on doing newborn photos on my own so I will have a cute outfit then.

The hospital I will deliver at again charges you for the pictures so we opted out of them for my son. It would’ve cost like $300 for us to get them done there and I thought that was insane. Your hospital could be totally different though!
