20 weeks ultrasound it's necessary?

Well I got approved for chip perinatal but only covered me for 30 days idk why then they revoked it didn't even get a notice and my 20 week ultrasound is in two weeks and since we are not covered how much is it to get it so we can start saving? AND IS IT necessary to do that ultrasound? Thank you

It's 100% necessary. At your 20 week scan they will check the anatomy of the baby. This includes all major organs like brain heart kidneys etc
 It's really important for them to be able to check baby's health and intervene where possible if there are any problems. They also check the position of your placenta, the cord and it's vessels,your cervix and fluid around the baby as well as growth etc. Please get this scan done regardless of the cost. I know years and years ago people didn't have scans etc and I'm sure everything is perfect but for yours and baby's health I'd rather have peace of mind x

It's about 800.00-900.00. It's very expensive but they should have a payment plan or reduced cost if your insurance doesn't cover it. I had to get one every 6 weeks for months. Breaks the bank.

Idk what state you're in but I know that Medicaid in Texas only covers upto 3 ultrasounds unless you're high risk and more are medically necessary.

I would say it's necessary.  We saw his eyes, brain, all 4 chambers of his heart, kidneys, everything. And she was able to measure him and make sure he was right on track. I Dont Know How Much For Sure Because My Insurance Covers Everything. But i would call the place your going to and just ask.
