Induction/cervidil?

Being induced tonight and since I’m not  dilated yet. They want to insert cervidil. For those of you who have started induction with this... how does it go? And does it help speed things up?

I went I to labor on it. And fast. My whole L&D was 8 hours. First time mom, too. Put the Cervidil in at 8:30pm and by 1:30-2:00am, I was at like a 6. Good luck!

I was started with cervadil. I was 1/2 a fingertip dilated and after 12 hours I was 1 fingertip. 
My advice, walk. A lot. I didn’t walk enough because I was miserable. But that was just because everyone kept doing everything for me and I felt useless. 
Contractions that started on it weren’t too bad, though.

I was induced with cervadil, honestly it was a horrible experience. 
I got the Cervidil at 440pm at 2cm 50% effaced by 830pm my cramps were extremely unbearable, 10:30pm went to the hospital I was only at 3cm but they admitted me, and I got the epidural shortly after. And by 4:15am I had my baby. I asked about the Cervidil too before I got induced and everyone’s experience is different some women needed multiple doses, some it didn’t work for at all, and others it sent them into labor!

I was on cervidil, I was 2cm dilated when they inserted it, took me 26 hours to get to 4cm where they finally put me on the oxytocin drip. All in all my labour was a total of 38 hours.

With my first I had 12 hours of cervadil. It caused me to have uncomfortable what I thought were period cramps but were actually mild contractions. They warned me that I may need a second round of cervadil, but when they removed it I was 1-2 cm dilated and thinned so they let me take a break for a little bit.. I took a shower, walked the halls for a bit.. then they started me on the pitocin

I was given cytotec because I was not dilating at all. The plan was to start with that and then be given pitocin. After three doses, the doctor broke my water and I began dilating on my own without pitocin! Had my water broken around 8:30am and baby was born at 3:51pm! Everyone is different but my experience with it wasn’t bad at all! Good luck!

It’s going to be different for everyone you’ll have it inserted you may have more than one dose they will see how that progresses you they may give you some pitocin as well then you just kinda wait for things to progress it can either go quick or or can take awhile
