Normal 2.5 year old with new sibling issues?
My daughter is 2.5 years old. Her little brother is 6 months old. Literally right before he was born she was ready to be potty trained- she was waking up dry, telling us she needed to go, and was excited to sit in the potty. But we didn’t started because our son was going to be born in 5 days. So he came and it was a hard adjustment for her- jealously and such but now she loves him. We waited until he had been around for 4 months before potty training and it was a disaster. She was scared to use the potty, would hold it for hours, and was so stressed so we stopped and put her back in diapers. Life moved on and she was her typical self again. For the last 2 weeks she has seemed to regress. She has been sucking her thumb non stop. The sound is driving me crazy, not to mention her touching everything in sight then putting her thumb in her mouth. She has been begging for me non stop and won’t do anything with my husband, she keeps saying she’s the baby and her brother in a big boy, and wants me to carry her everywhere. She screams when I have to change her diaper. I understand she’s probably jealous and adjusting but she made great progress and now she’s taken some steps back. Is that typical? Anyone else go through something similar?
