Zantac for reflux?

Anybody else’s babies dealing with reflux issues? The last two nights trying to put baby to bed have been horrible. He falls asleep in our arms and then as soon as we lay him down on his back he is awake and fussy- making loud gulping noises like he’s trying to keep stuff down, arching his back. I’m thinking of calling the pediatrician tomorrow and asking about trying out Zantac or something for reflux. Has anyone else been dealing with this or had experience with medication working? My baby is almost 6 weeks btw.

Zantac has been a game changer. My babe wouldn’t eat because of the discomfort of swallowing and the burning in her throat. We give two doses a day and give via syringe I. Small doses so she gets all of it.

It works great for my son. He’s so much better after starting it. We give the dose in small amounts so he doesn’t spit it out

Another thing to consider is does your baby have a small lip or tongue tie? We were having the same issues with our daughter 6w4d and I ended up asking for a referral to see a specialist because nothing the ped and I tried was working well and the ped kind of refused to put her on medication for reflux... fast forward we went to a specialist and sure enough baby girl had a small enough ties to complicate the entire eating process causing reflux, gassiness, puking, fussy... etc we are on the 3rd day and since surgery and she’s a different baby 🙌🏼 she latches better, sleeps better and her reflux and gas have tremendously improved

We just started Zantac last week and I haven’t seen a real difference yet. Our docs have said using Zantac certainly won’t hurt so we went with that first. We might move to something a little stronger (like Prevacid). We were also told by our nutritionist about a formula (we supplement/fortify breast milk) that sits a little heavier in the stomach that we will look into as well. Dealing w reflux stinks! 😖

My son was given zantac at 6w because his reflux was due to allergens in my milk. Honestly, I gave up giving it to him after about a week. The oral syringe worked only like 10% of the time. He caught on to us mixing the medicine in his bottles so he protested bottle milk for a bit. And we tried those mini medicine baby bottles and he would just let it sit on his tongue and spit out every single drop that touched his tongue. 
I feel like it was a waste of $30 for us because he still has like 75% of the bottle. 
However, since I've removed the allergens from my diet, his reflux has decreased incredibly. So maybe it's worth insoectint what's in your diet to see what's causing your baby's reflux first? 
I had no idea, we didn't even go to the doctor for reflux, we went for a rash on his face which ended up being eczema due to allergies, and he wouldn't stop spitting up in front of the ped after I nursed him. That and he was fussy and had blood in his diaper mixed in that we couldn't see. 
If after a week or so of cutting out offenders (dairy is #1) your baby's reflux isn't better then maybe it would be worth getting the zantac.
