Can breastfeeding laying down cause ear infections?

I have recently read that drinking bottles and sippy cups laying down can cause ear infections in babies... I nurse my daughter all through the night laying down, and would imagine it would so the same, right?? Now I feel bad and am scared, but she won't sleep without eating literally all night...

I've breast fed 7 children, all laying down at night and none of them got ear infections. Currently doing so with my 10 month old. There's something different about bottles and cups I've heard.

The reason for this is the bottle or cup continuously dripping when baby is not sucking and liquid pooling (same with 'bottle rot' teeth issues). With breastfeeding you don't continuously drip without active sucking so this is not an issue (typically).

I’ve done this with all 4 of my boys. The only time they’ve ever gotten ear infections is from allergy season.

Huh. I never thought about that. I breastfed my son for 16 months. He literally couldn't fall asleep without nursing until then. He's 2.5 now and has never had an ear infection. 
My second is 9 months old and I breastfeed him lying down several times a day and he hasn't had one yet either. But he has his 9 month appointment soon and I'll be asking this question then.
