39 week induction?

Scheduled for induction July 2 at 530 am. I’ll be 39 weeks and 4 days. First baby. Not high risk or anything. Just doing this because of husbands work schedule and because quite frankly I’m exhausted and miserable and just ready for it to be over with. Anyone else induced around 39 weeks with their first? Would love to hear your birth stories!

There was a recent study (google ARRIVE trial) that found good outcomes for induction at 39 weeks (better outcomes compared to induction at 40+ weeks actually, super interesting). As a doula I gotta say it’s always the MOST ideal to start labor naturally but at 39 weeks you are totally safe to induce. I think you’ll do great!

With all of mine I was induced except for my 5th I had her at home...unexpectedly...I'm pregnant with my 7th due in July but I have a feeling shes coming sooner then the end of july... I will be 36 weeks on Tuesday...

I was induced at 38 weeks due to gestational diabetes. Everything went well, 12 hours start to finish. I was already dilated 3 cm when I went in so I’m sure that helped .
