Am I the only person who doesn't want baby early?

I feel like everyone is trying to bring on labour before the babies due date. I'm from the UK so we don't get cervical checks until 40 weeks so I find it strange people are checking how dilated etc they are at 37 weeks. We also don't get induced until 40+12 (unless there's a reason to do so). I don't get why someone would optionally go through an induction at 38 weeks before baby is even due unless there's a reason to do so.

I on the other hand don't feel ready I'm happy for baby to stay an extra week as I am currently living in parents waiting on an extension finishing. So my circumstances are different. As uncomfortable as I am now at 38+2 I would still like an extra couple of weeks if I can.
