If it’s your first cycle trying and you don’t have a hot clue when you might ovulate I would start checking early on. I know that the earliest I ovulate is cd12 so I don’t typically start checking until cd10. Good luck!

I only start using my opk strips when I notice CM. I was once told to start testing on cycle day 7, but I found that was way too early for me and I knew I wouldn't be ovulating for at least another week or so. You kind of have to see what works best for you, I think.
