Tips for getting blood pressure down?

I’m not quite 36 weeks and my bp is elevated :( not quite to panic pre- eclampsia but enough my dr did bloodwork and gave me a steroid shot for the babies lungs today. I don’t care exactly when I have my baby but I really want him to be healthy and not in the nicu:( any tips/tricks to help me get through a few more weeks? 
Ps I am having lots of swelling and contacting but not for more than 45mins at a time. I was 1cm today and 50% effaced

I’m surprised your doctor is going to let you wait it out instead of inducing you. Pregnancy induced hypertension (assuming you don’t have chronic high BP) is caused by the pregnancy so all you can do to fix it is give birth. That said, I’ve had elevated BP since 28 weeks (being induced at 37 on Tuesday), and I’ve kept it under control which has surprised my doctor. Be super strict about sodium intake, drinks lots of water, relax as much as possible, and take epsom salt baths every night. You are far enough along everything will be fine!

I always heard lay on your left side in a dark room the darker the better, relax, watch movies don’t get stressed. Eat Food with like zero salt, drink a ton of water.

So bloodwork came back and it’s not preeclampsia:) 
Dr wants me to take it easy (so hard when I want to nest sooo bad) and continue to watch my blood pressure. 
Also starting non-stress tests next week in addition to my regular appointment and might do more bloodwork again depending on how my bp goes. I did do the steroid shot for the babies lungs as a precaution incase he comes before 37weeks :) I’m so glad to have a game plan that isn’t to drastic unless it needed to be :)
