Cold winter and newborns!?!❄😱❄

Question

I live in Canada and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions regarding warm items like clothes, stroller bag types or anything else we should think of buying to be prepared? 
Personally, I don't want to spend all the winter walking in malls (what I've seen happening) but have a bit of outdoor time as well... happy to hear your thoughts ladies and gentlemen😊❄☃️❄😊

Get a great car seat cover. Go with the shower cap style so it goes over the seat and doesn’t interfere with the safety of the seat. They make them so the babe is completely out of the wind and cold, with just a little flap for their face :)

I lived in WA state when I had my daughter in December. I layered her up! Those fuzzy zipper sleepers were amazing. I also carried a blanket everywhere we went and kept a hat on her outside to help keep in the warmth. Once the seasons change it’ll be so much easier to prepare for our babies. I also chose to baby wear vs a stroller. That kept her close and warm. And I was able to monitor if she was getting too warm!

This will be my second December baby and as a fellow Canadian (in cold climate) I honestly don't over prepare. Baby will be in a car seat with cover and a ton of fleece onesies. I often used plastic covers over the stroller for outside walks but never left the house past -25 or so. The most difficult thing is keeping tiny mittens on their hands

This is my second baby (first was due feb but came in March) and I’ll dress baby in footie jammies for 3 months straight and use a warm shower cap style car seat cover and it should be good. I really want to honour the 4th trimester and hibernate as much as I can for the first few months anyway. I’m in Ontario.

I live in Alberta, FTM and I am due dec 4 I bought a snow suit and a winter jolly jumper car seat cover so far. As for clothes babe will most likely wear socks sweat pants and a long sleeve onesie, and a hat.

With my first (born in Nov) we had a one piece snowsuit (North Face Thermoball) that wasn’t too thick and also fleece jacket/pants that we could layer and remove if it got too hot. For outdoor walks add blankets. We also used the car seat canopy to block the wind and also had the shower cap cover for the short distance of getting from the house/mall to the car. We also had a footmuff for the stroller.
