Is it safe to use swaddle on newborn for sleep time?

Question

I heard it’s good for comforting, but read about sudden death syndrome?
Do I just put my baby in Moses basket without swaddling? I don’t want to use a blanket I know that’s not safe
I’m a first time mum so I want to be prepared for when baby gets here

Yes, as long as you swaddle correctly. We used the Halo swaddle sacks. They’re super easy to figure out.

Swaddling is fine loose blankets in the sleep space are a danger because they can cover the baby’s face. Moses baskets are not an approved safe sleep space. Put your baby in a crib or pack n play or anything labeled “bassinet” anything labeled “sleeper” isn’t safe

The gro company do great swaddles which are approved by midwives and health specialists. The main problem with swaddling is if you do it too tight the baby can end up with bad hip problems and restricted breathing. But theirs are great ones. Also you can use a blanket as long as you tuck their arms out of it so it doesn’t pass their shoulders and have a risk of covering babies face
