Are you planning on doing delayed cord clamping?

Just till the cord stops pumping blood. Anything longer is unnecessary.

I wish we hadn’t done it. It causes higher bilirubin which kept my son in the hospital longer. It also caused his blood cell counts to be off which delayed a surgery he needed.

It’s standard practice at my hospital. If it wasn’t I would still do though.

I wanted to do it when I delivered but my placenta came out too fast and I started to bleed so I couldn’t. If I have another baby I definitely will be doing it.

Done it with my last two and will do it again! Let it go till it turned grey. There’s soooo much good stuff in there. If you cut it right away it’s like leaving 1/3 of babies blood out of their body. No joke.

Its standard procedure at my hospital. I did it with my daughter, unfortunately when my son was born there were a few complications so they had to cut it to do what needed doing.

Well yeah, I also did this 10 years ago with my baby girl. I do give birth at home so everything is calmer and more relaxed, cutting the cord doesn't happen in the first minute either. They did with my first baby 12 years ago and he turned yellow for a couple of days. My baby girl did amazing from the get go. I'll have our third baby in August and we will not cut the cord super fast either, chances are the midwife won't even make it in time and we'll have to leave the cord until she arrives. The cord closes itself within an hour so it's not a huge issue.
