Skip period on patch?

Question

So I’m going camping and I’ll have to remove my patch when I get back. I want to be able to have sex with my boyfriend when I get back. He has a really high sex drive so I know he will want me after not seeing me for a week. Plus I don’t want to be a hormone monster and mean to him right when I’m home 
Can I just put a new patch on or does it not work that way? If I can, will I have any bad effects?

You can skip a period by applying a new patch for the week you typically go latch free and continuing the patch for another 3 weeks so completely miss this period but have your next on time but make sure you call your doctor and have him/her write a prescription for extra so you don’t run out. It is also recommended that you only skip a period for 3 cycles with the patch.
