A month early; preeclampsia
My son was born at 35 weeks and 3 days. I went through a 24 hour induction, due to having preeclampsia. Throughout my whole pregnancy, both my doctors and OB's told me I was doing perfect, nothing was wrong up until I started getting "sick". My sickness that I thought was due to sleeping with the air conditioning on was that I wouldn't be able to sleep on my back without losing oxygen and waking up every half an hour not being able to breathe. So I did what any concerned mother to be would do and I went to the doctors. My doctor didn't want to waste his time getting a chest xray done to check my lungs and just ruled it out as a silent pneumonia. After taking the medicine within the next couple days, I was being rushed into the hospital by a family friend who is a nurse and come to find out, I had severe preeclampsia and none of the doctors realized it. Being a first time mother, I didn't know what symptoms to look for. I thought the retaining fluid (as much as I did) was normal, same with blurry vision, headaches for a week and a half, and vomiting. Luckily I had my son when I did because he was losing oxygen himself, and the doctor told me he had a higher risk of becoming a still born. Thankfully he went through the NICU and SCU within the week and a half I was in the hospital (due to blood pressure not lowering). He was 5 lbs. 11oz when he was born on September 3rd to being 5 lbs and 6oz coming home on September 10th to now being over 7 lbs. September 29th.
