Time to Start the Process!

After quite a few discussions, my husband and I have decided that we will start trying for a baby. I will be considered a high risk pregnancy due to homozygous Factor V Leiden disorder as well as my history of multiple pulmonary embolisms and heart failure. I need to meet with my hematologist about switching my blood thinner, 2 OBs to talk about all the ins and out of high risk pregnancy, and talk to my cardiologist for an echocardiogram and CT scan before even starting.

I didn't realize the amount of pre-planning that goes into having a baby when you're high risk. All the prenatal appointments, medication updates, and genetic screening. I'm happy we started this process now because it will take 6-8 weeks before we can even start the fun part of trying!

Wish us luck! Baby dust to all! 🎉👶🏼
