Will you try to breastfeed your newborn?

I tried so hard with my son but circumstances made it so we were unsuccessful. I felt like a failure, and my own mother made me think I was one. She's not around for this baby (thankfully), but I am bound and determined this time around to have the patience to try again!

Hoping I do as well this time as I did last time! I had my daughter at 29 weeks and so I could only pump but I pumped away! I didn't have any problems breastfeeding my earlier two so I'm hoping I and the baby works out our breastfeeding quickly by listening to each other.

My first got to nurse for one whole hour directly after her birth, they didn't even weight her until after. It made such a special time for me, my husband and her, to get that first quiet time just us together as a family.

I breastfeed my first for three years and my second for two and hope this one will breastfeed for about two years. So easy when traveling or when they are sick. And you always know you have something to give them if they suddenly are hungry.

And I just love cuddling together, I know you can do that without breastfeeding but the extra hormones the mother gets makes it so easy.

I will definitely breast feed as soon as possible. I love how they can crawl and latch on right after birth. My babe will get the opportunity to do so with tons of skin to skin time immediately.
That said, I'm also allowing myself to be open to the idea of not being perfect right away. That doesn't mean I won't breast feed. No matter what my baby is getting my milk! But if it hurts or isn't super easy at first, then that's okay, I won't beat myself up.
For example:
An acquaintance of mine recently told 
me that the first ten weeks nursing her son really really hurt. She had years of experience as a professional lactation consultant, so she expected she'd be able to fix any problem that came up. She couldn't. She finally just decided that sometimes it just hurts, and she wasn't a failure. Instead, she used her experience giving birth to reach deep down and find the good hormone release even with the pain. 
Now she looks back on that time very fondly. 
I was so inspired and I'm going to follow her lead, if I have to.

This is my third child and I breast fed my first two for a year.  I am so looking forward to having the experience with this baby as my youngest is six years old and I feel like it's been forever.  Lots of work and commitment, but definitely worth it if you are able to breastfeed😊

Yes. I've breastfed all my kids for a minimum of 2 years so far.  
I LOVE breastfeeding. So many health benefits for baby and mom and so great for bonding. 
Like another mom said it's not always easy. And I accept there may be issues. But I will be doing it.
