First (very early) Ultrasound
I am being seen at an infertility clinic has I’ve had recurrent miscarriages.
We were lucky enough to get pregnant again on our own after 2 miscarriages, and 2 chemical pregnancies. (They suggested we try
with genetic testing prior to implantation but we can’t afford that).
The doctor at the clinic said the biggest thing she can offer someone whose been through what we have is to do early and multiple ultrasounds to help ease the panic that’s going through our minds so we were scheduled today at 5+3 (based off ovulation)
We were able to see the gestational sac, a small yolk sac and the tech said “what looks to be the start of a fetal pole”. Measured between 5.2-5.5, she said it was hard to get a true reading this early but appears to be on target!
My last two miscarriages, when I’ve gone in at 6+4/5 I’ve only ever been able to see a gestational sac and yolk sac. So seeing what could be the start of a fetal pole today felt like a huge waiver of relief!
We go back again in one week, then if there is continued growth we will go back again one week later. I truly appreciate this doctor for understanding stress and miscarriage correlations and doing what she can to ease that stress.
