We used sleepers with the foldover mittens. The individual ones never stayed on.

I was told not to use them at all by the hospital I have birth at. But in my experience they never keep them on anyway

They don’t stay on very well. I just bought the onesies that have the hand folds at the end. They worked much better

(Not my picture, baby sleeping so i cant sneak in to grab a sleeper to show you) a lot of newborn sleepers have built in mittens- they just fold over. We almost exclusively used sleepers when our baby was born. They were easiest with changing and kept her little razor claws off her face. Also putting a onesie over a newborns head was not fun lol. They cant get these mittens off. Targets brand cloud island were my favorite (all sizes of their sleepers have the mittens)

Our pediatrician said not to use them after one month. He said babies need to feel things and process textures with their hands.

No. Babies should be able to feel and touch things. Their skin is resilient. A scratch barely lasts more than a day.

They don't stay on so i don't necessarily recommend the individual mittens. I personally prefer outfits that have them built in. Where you can let baby wear the sleeves as normal sleeves or with the foldover mittens that cover their hands.

You can use socks or onesies with mittens but use something especially if they get dry skin. It's hard to clip your baby's nails back far enough and they can end up really hurting themselves. These are my son's current scratches. He has had a couple across the eyes which really hurt. Silly me forgets to put mittens on sometimes :(
