Family input
Was just having this conversation with someone on instagram, but I’m interested to see people’s opinions here too...
What was your initial experience with breastfeeding in the hospital?? What information were you given, and did anyone pressure you to give formula because they said baby wasn’t getting enough??
Anyone ever get pressure for family members or friends to give formula instead of or as well as breastmilk??
My son is 3.5 months now, and I’ve been pressured constantly by family friends to give formula to “top feed” because my baby is not sleeping through the night, so he must be starving.
I had a great support system in my midwives who explained when my son was born that any drop of colostrum was good for him, and when first born, babies can’t handle much since their tummies are so tiny.
My son is small, 15th percentile in height and weight, but he always has been and has 2 lbs to go before he doubles his birth weight so I am not worried about him at all.
I’m so interested to see what everyone’s experiences are!!
