Hi, I am 24 years old and have been on birth control since I was 16. I went off birth control about 4 months ago and haven’t gotten my period since. I went to the doctor to find out why and he did a quick ultrasound and said that I am not getting my period because I have polycystic ovaries. He told me that this means I will not or will very rarely get my period naturally (without being on birth control) and that it is unhealthy to not get my period regularly, and so I should go back on birth control. Other than not getting my period since going off birth control, I have no other symptoms of PCOS. Does anyone have any suggestions ? Should I go back on birth control to regulate my period? Is it unhealthy if I don’t ?
