Any advise on post natal massage?

Elders in my home are forcing me to get started with post natal massage and I am not sure how much it is needed. I had assisted vaginal delivery and with 4th degree tear, still struggling with pain and discomfort down there. Not sure how it’s gonna impact. Please advise

I think it’s best to go to a specialist before doing things like that. “Elders” while they are wise, are not always right. Ya know? So just be careful. In my family we ignore a lot of their advice bc it is so backwards and tends to do more harm than good, but my husbands culture is pretty out there. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was advised by my doctor not to do that until at least 6w and potentially 8w PP. I usually start pelvic floor physical therapy at the same time
