Still using a pacifier??

I'm super stuck. My son is addicted. Any tips for getting off of it? Cold turkey or just bedtime....??? Help me before he turns like 25 and still needs it haha

We had the “paci fairy” come to our house. We told our son about her for about a week at bedtime. She is a fairy who comes overnight - we leave pacis out for her so she can take them to babies who need them. When she takes the pacis, she leaves a surprise! We had a little special moment for him to put the pacis out for her in a basket (like leaving your stockings for Santa). He said goodbye to all the pacis and went to bed without them no problem - he couldn’t wait to see his surprise in the morning (just a book and some dinosaur bubbles). We have not had a problem since. He asked once for a paci and we reminded him that the paci fairy took them all away and he remembered. Hope this helps!! 💕

My daughter lost hers and I actually wasn't planning on giving it up but we decided that was it and it was really rough im not going to lie. But we pushed through it. So basically we did cold turkey.

My son only uses it at night.  Honestly he probably doesn't really need or want it. I just have a hard time getting him to bed and that seems to do the trick.  
I did make myself a promise that I will not buy any news ones.  Hes down to 3.  When those get nasty or lost thats it.

We went on vacation and told her we didn't bring it. After that week, she hasn't needed it.

Cold turkey. We did this accidentally by going on holiday and forgetting the dummy. 2 bad nights but then he was over it and the dummy was gone for good!

Defs going to get shot down for this but my son still has his for sleeping, and I’m basically waiting for him to give it up himself (within reason!). I’ve tried 4 times (cold turkey) and it is heartbreaking. Most recent time was just after he turned 2...it was just awful! Had to go & buy more 😂 #badmummy

I had to cut my daughter's out cold turkey a couple of months ago. She was ADDICTED lol. It took less than a week for her to stop asking for it though. Good luck!

We got rid of it in February, my husband put his foot down and said “we’re going cold turkey!”
It was a rough couple of days but after a week she didn’t even ask for it anymore. 
We knew it was time because she kept biting the tips off of them.

How often does he have it now? 
With my older son, we went from all day long to just at home for two weeks and then just at naptime and bedtime (it stayed in his bed) for a couple weeks and then no naptime for awhile and then we got rid of it.
