Roseola.... Rash after a fever. Sharing my new knowledge.
Poor Mary had a biopsy on some side lumps last Tues. Come Fri morning until Monday night she Ran a fever ranging from 100.5-102.8. So Mon we see urgent care to check her biopsy site, ears, throat etc. They say all is well, just a virus. This morning I go to derm to have the suture removed from her biopsy and she is head to toe rash and red splotches. They had me see her pcm first then the seem Dr. The Dr first evaluated if it was measles because I guess they actually have been seeing measles 😔but come to find out it's luckily just a super common virus that goes away on its own-"exanthem subitum or roseola infantum". This my 7th child and it was an educational day for me because I'd never heard of or experienced it. They were surprised with all my kids, & childcare experience, I'd never experienced it before. So now I know! They said probably just another 2-3 days of lots of nursing and resting and she'll be back to normal. Hoping this helps someone else along the way. The rash and splotches do not bother her btw, just the ickiness from fever n stuff.
