Help I need feedback

On June 12th I went to the ER that's when I found out I was pregnant I was about 5 weeks 6 weeks they did a vaginal ultrasound and I can see the sac and I can see what I thought was the baby now today I have one to the doctor and they did a ultrasound on my stomach and all they saw was the sac it wasn't the best picture but do you think they should have used the vaginal ultrasound because he tried to say that I'm very early I'm really confused because I'm thinking I'm 8 weeks and 3 days and he saying that I'm in the early stage because he couldn't see the baby so I have another ultrasound in two weeks so my question is can you see the baby better with a vaginal one or the one on your stomach in early pregnancy and has anyone ever had this happen to them and did you eventually see the baby
