When to get off of birth control

Question

So my fiancé and I want to become pregnant in December (wedding month)...I'm currently on BC and 37 yrs old.  Should I get off of BC after this month or wait until closer to Dec.?

Unfortunately for many, many women getting pregnant doesnt happen when you want it to. Theres a chance you could come off of bc closer to december and it could take you over a year. Dont focus on an exact date as such, when you're ready come off of birth control. I was one of those who wanted to get pregnant in winter/spring time... still waiting 7 years later and I'd do anything to get pregnant on any day of the year 😂😂😂

Also getting pregnant isn't as easy as we thought. We have been trying for 10 months now.

I would now since it may take your body a couple months to regulate. Just use condoms in the meantime 😊

Well I guess it depends on what birth control because I got off of my Shot 2 years ago and I have not been able to conceive....
When I was younger and got pregnant with my daughter I just got off of the pill and I was immediately pregnant so I don't know if my age have to do with it or the birth control that's something you might want to ask your doctor

Now, that way you’re body has time to regulate!! Especially being older I wouldn’t want to risk being on it and not regulating before TTC.

If you are set on getting pregnant during a certain time I would start tracking your ovulation with test strips and because of your age you could prob check with your obgyn and do bloodwork to make sure all your hormones are good. However my husband and i are at a year of ttc and we both have healthy labs so it can take time.

I would say you have 2 options. Ione get off bc in August and you may be ready by December. Practice opk and avoid sex during fertile window. Wiat until December to be 100% safe.
But here is the thing. The first year of marriage is rough...it just is. Babys, are rough. It's not what most men and woman picture so marriage gets rough for a while, up to 9 months after. So I strongly advise waiting and enjoying and working through that first year:) all situations are different but my first marriage ended at his 1 year birthday. My second we have figured it out! But tnn e first 6 months were really hard in us.
