Confused in love

Okay so I have been off and on with this guy for 2 years and some months and we have been through so much. We have both tried to move on witch he has dated other people and I’ve dated other people but we always end up coming right back to each other. He was my first love and I could never feel the way I feel ab him with anyone and he said the same for me. We can’t seem to not come back to eachother but he has also put me through hell during all this time but we also have great times and I don’t know what to do with me and him Bc he’s always talking ab getting back together.
