Ways pregnancy prepared me for cancer
This is meant to be lighthearted - obviously no real comparison there!
Anyone have others?
1. Random strangers will tell you all kinds of things about your health, mostly based on their friend's cousin's daughter's experience 20 years ago.
2. Everyone asks "How ARE you, really?" when you just want to get on with the meeting already.
3. You have to buy all kinds of silly sh*t to wear to feel decent in public.
4. Everyone you know initially makes you tons of casseroles, but then stops when you really could really use them.
5. People (often strangers) make judgements about what you eat, what you wear, your level of physical activity, etc, to your face.
6. You have about a 50-50 chance of vomiting in the bathrooms at work any given week.
7. You get good at taking covert naps during your lunch break.
8. You become more familiar with FMLA and short-term disability regulations than your HR rep at work.
9. You get really good at hospitals, getting poked and prodded, and even get to know your nurses well enough to exchange holiday cards!
