7 weeks and bleeding

I am 7 weeks 5 days and starting bleeding this afternoon. It was more than spotting but less than full blown period.  It was bright red. Went in for ultrasound yesterday and heartbeat was at 150 and strong. Is this normal? Should I fear the worst? This is my second pregnancy and it didn't happen with the first.
