Age Gaps?

I feel pressed.. I’m kinda falling in love with this guy but he’s almost 5+ years over me. I have close friends that don’t really agree and think anything past a year is absurd. 
What do you all think?

It makes a difference if you’re over the age of consent or not. 
If you are then it doesn’t matter what others think. (See my comments on your poll)
If you’re under 18 for example, proceed with caution, there is dubious legality about relationships where only one person is over the age of consent. If you are certain they’re right for you, consider taking a break and revisiting when you’re a little older. If they really care for you, they’ll wait. Trust me.

Your family is right. If you are under 18 a 5 year age gap is a big deal. Your brain doesn't fully developed until 25 years of age. The guy you are dating has a huge 5 year advantage over you that makes the relationship inherently imbalanced.
