What's your guys opinion on this?

This isn't me but a girl at my school and I just wanted to talk about it because I understand in a certain way and another way makes me very angry. This girl who is now in grade 11 just had a baby,she wanted a abortion but it was too late then she wanted to do adoption till her ex boyfriend(who was always there) stood up and took the baby and now he's raising his daughter alone.. She doesn't want anything to do with the baby because she can't take care of herself and she might have something to do with her when she's done school.. I just think this is extremely ridiculous for a young girl who wasn't on Birth Control and didn't even use a condom. She said she didn't take pictures with her because she's not going to be in her life. I just feel sad for the guy because he's raising his daughter alone because her mother chose not to be in her life because she's not ready to be a mother.. Reason I'm posting this because I see so many people who want kids and have difficulty time trying or simply can't conceive and there's reckless teens my age:( I'm older than her I'm 18!

I don't understand why you are judging her so harshly for this. Guys do this all of the time.

While it's rare for a mother to not want anything to do with her child. I don't think anyone is in the position to judge her, you don't really know her reasons, her true reasons and honestly, it's none of your business.

It does hurt when someone abandons her or his child, it's not fair for the child nor for the parent left alone to take care of a child.

However, I cannot help but think that the reason it upsets you so much is because she's a girl and not a guy, it doesn't seem fair. Just be thankful that the baby's dad stepped up to take care of her and he'll probably do a great job raising her!

I think she made a very mature decision and not being in her daughters life, no different than adoption.

Actually, it sounds as if she made a very mature decision so I'm not understanding what the problem is. Would you rather her not take care of the baby, but still keep her? I doubt it. There's moms out there doing it alone everywhere and no one sits around and talks crap about the dads that walked out. She made the choice to give the baby to someone who will provide and love them. That's mature. She knew she couldn't do it so she found someone that could.

It's sad when things like this happen but thank God the Father stepped up to the plate. Someday she will regret this but as long as the little girl is safe and being taken care of I wouldn't worry about it.

I think it's great that the father was willing to be a single parent, and that she was willing to let him. I wouldn't feel bad for him, i would feel happy for him. They both got what they wanted. He wanted to raise his daughter. She didn't want anything to do with the kid or being a mom. So the kid gets to grow up with a loving parent who wants her. Doesn't matter which parent it was.

I think you need to mind your own business. There are worse things she could've done but she made the choice to let the father raise their baby and she has chosen not to be in the child's life. To me, raising the baby with resentment and a cold heart would've been far worse. Instead she gave baby a chance to live happily with its biological father

I understand I am trying and i am a teenager but it is hard as a teenager and if it was an "accident child" then maybe she isnt ready to be a mother but to me even if it was an "accident child" i wouldnt care i would always be in that baby's life but thats my OPINION!

we can't judge others for their decision, maybe this is what is best for the child. and massive appreciation for the dad, what a stand up guy to take on a child on his own. that baby is very lucky to have a dad like that!
