Do you think gender is culturally relevant?

Do you think gender is culturally relevant? I do believe it is, just by looking at other cultures around the world (or historically) you can see that the "amount" (for lack of a better word) of genders each culture has is very diverse. The example I like to use is the Navajo, especially before colonialism, had four genders. Male, female, masculine female, and feminine male. Now I won't go into too much detail because I'd rather hear everyone else's opinions. *Please no hateful comments!*
